Two Months

Hi everyone, it's Sophie,
WOW! Has it been a busy month. I had a very special visitor this month, Mommy's friend Alexis came to see me. We had a great time while she was here, we even spent a night just the two of us so that Mommy and Daddy could go out on a date. She was super nice.

I have been learning a lot this month too. I have gotten really good at holding my head, kicking my feet, and using my hands and arms. I can hold my rattle, not for long though, they're really heavy!

I really love my baths, Daddy gives me one every night before bed. I love to kick and splash in the water!

I helped Mommy decorate for Christmas and even went to the mall and helped her shop for gifts. I also discovered my smile and laugh this month. I am in a really good mood first thing in the morning and do the majority of my talking, laughing, and smiling then.

Christmas was a few days ago, it was great! Daddy, Mommy and I spent it at home in Florida. We had a very quiet Christmas Eve, I went to bed early (so Santa could come) and Mommy and Daddy watched "Christmas Vacation".

The next morning we got up and Santa had been here!

We opened presents, Daddy helped me open mine.

I only made it through 4 presents before I needed a nap.

We went to Mike and Sarah's house for dinner. I got to meet some more family Chris and Jenni George were there and they LOVED me! I had a good time but got REALLY tired by the end of the day. I have been doing really well getting on a schedule, which is good because Mommy's going back to work next month. She's really sad about that but we are having a great time together. Hope everyone is doing great, that's all for this month.

One Month!

Hi Everyone,
It sure has been a busy month! I have had a lot of visitors and am learning a lot about my parents and our house. After I came home from the hospital I got to know Gram and Pa Gramer a little bit. We had a great time together. Unfortunantly, they had to go back to Michigan when I was only 5 days old. We were sad to see them go, but excited because Grandma and Grandpa Adams were coming to visit just a few days later. Grandma and Grandpa Adams got here and they were so excited to meet me. They just kept saying they couldn't believe that I was theirs.

We spent a great week together, Grandma helped Mommy out a lot and Grandpa helped Daddy get a lot done around the house. One day Grandma even took care of me because Mommy got sick. I went to the Dr.'s for my two week check up while they were here too. I weighed 9 lbs. already!

After they left, Daddy went back to work. Mommy was a little nervous the first few days but we really enjoy the quiet days getting to know each other. She says that I am a good sleeper, that's what I spend most of my day doing!

Our friends Abby, Eric, and Luke have come to see us a few times and we even went to their house one day too. I was really comfy there because I slept most of the day. I am really starting to like our dog Tyson. He really likes to lick my feet, but leaves me alone for the majority of the day. The hardest thing is keeping him from playing with my toys but we're working on it.
A few days ago was Thanksgiving. I got to meet Mommy's cousins, Mike, Sarah, Grace and Afife, as well as Uncle Jim and Aunt Fufu. They were great and couldn't get enough of me. They agreed with most people that I look just like Daddy!

I am getting so big so quickly. I am working on holding my head up (I can for about 5 seconds), learning my name, and sleeping at night (I'm doing pretty good, I just need to go to bed before 1 a.m.). Mommy says that I am getting big too fast! Well, that's about all for this month.

Sophia Rose

Excited Mommy and Daddy on the way to the hospital!

Happy Mommy for the mean time. They hadn't started the medicine to make me come out yet!
Things started getting a little rough for Mommy during labor. It was 10 hours of contractions and 3 hours of pushing before I decided to come out! Mommy was a trooper!
Well I'm here! Sophia Rose Adams arrived on Wednesday, October 27th at 5:27 pm. She was only 3 days late! We had to induce Mommy so that Gram could meet our little Sophie.
Mommy and Daddy fell in love with me the moment they met me.

I was a BIG little girl. 8 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 1/4 inches long. I have lots of brown hair and grey blue eyes. I am very long! Mommy hopes that my eyes will stay blue or turn green like Daddy's eyes. I do have curly hair, not as curly as Mommy's but curly.
I had a lot of visitors at the hospital. Gram and Pa were here from Michigan, so I got to meet them. They are great and I can't wait until they come back to see me. Pa flew in a few hours before I was born, just in time to meet me. Mommy's friend Abby came to see me too, along with Mommy's friends Robin, Karen, Joan, and Marilyn.

37 Weeks!!

Well, October is finally here! I can't believe how quickly it came. So now we wait, and try to make sure that everything is ready for her. I think we are almost there, although I still need to get my hospital bag packed. Like I said to Dustin tonight, I never thought my belly could get this big!

At our Dr.'s appointment on Monday, I was dialated to 2 cm. I know that I could be this way for a while, but it is still really exciting to know that she could be here any day now. We are going to have to make sure we are ready because ready or not she's coming. Dustin's hoping, at least a little bit, that she is born on his birthday. Not that he really wants to share it with her but 10-10-10 would be kind of cool! I don't know if I really am that ready for her yet, but I am ready to get my body back to myself.

Well, next time we're on here will be to introduce our little girl. Until then, Prayers for a quick and easy delivery!

33 Weeks and counting!

Well, I can't believe how fast this is going! We are at 33 weeks already and going to the Dr.'s every two weeks! I can't really see my feet anymore, let alone put my shoes on half of the time by myself. I am seeing her move a lot more now! In fact the other day she was making waves in there.

We are back to work now, which is extreemly draining, but it is making the time go by even faster than before. We went to our first parenting class and it was really fun watching Dustin put a diaper on a Cabbage Patch Kid. I've been trying to talk him into diapering baby Luke but he still hasn't attempted that yet. Our hospital tour is coming up soon, and we are excited to figure this whole thing out. We also have our birthing classes coming up soon, we thought we would wait until we pretty much needed them to start them but now I'm thinking we maybe should have done them sooner.

Sophia's Nursery Part 2

We got most of her furniture and got everything washed, hung up, and put where it's going to go for the most part. We just need to get her crib, and then we can put all of the finishing touches in her room. It's now my favorite room of the house!

Dustin goofing around with the baby clothes! She is Daddy's little girl!

Dustin decided to make some artwork for Sophie's room. It turned out really nice!

29 weeks!

Well, we have officially made it to the 3rd Trimester! Wow it has really gone by quickly but so slowly at the same time. We are busily working on her bedroom, and getting everything ready for her arrival. Dustin and I are really excited to meet her and are so curious as to who she is going to look like. Only 11 more weeks to go and I know it's going to fly by because I am going back to work after next week. Our first parenting class is on Wednesday and I am interested to see how we do. Until next time, Ciao!

27 weeks

We are really starting to show! She is moving a lot lately and Aunt Beth, Gram Gramer and Daddy were able to feel her move while we were in Michigan.

Sophia's Room part 1

Her room is a work in progress, but we have managed to paint it and get all of the decals on the walls. Now we just need to get the furniture and her bedding.

It's a GIRL!!!!

Well we were lucky enough that she showed us all of her glory on Thursday, we know for a fact that she is a girl. Our little Sophia Ann will be here in October. Now that we know that she will be here and is looking healthy, we can't wait to meet her. I know that she is VERY active, she likes to kick me while I am trying to fall asleep at night. Dustin's not really sure what to do with a girl but I know that he's going to do great things. He will be a great Daddy! We're both really excited. Until next time, Ciao!

Saturday, June 5, 2010

We're into June already! We can't believe how fast the pregnancy is going. I am already 20 weeks along and getting kicked more and more everyday. We had an ultrasound on Thursday, they "think it's a girl" but aren't sure yet. So we are going to try again next week and see if "she" will cooperate. As Dustin says, "there's still a chance that it could be a boy"! Who knows, maybe we're not supposed to know until shim makes its grand apperance in October sometime. Feeling really good now and getting ready to work on the nursery. Still going with Dr. Seuss, it's just too cute! Also, if it is a girl I just can't see myself painting a room pink. Hope we are cooperative next week, so we will have our answer. Until next time, Ciao!
